My Approach

I’m a Person-centred therapist so led by you, I love to work with people who are preparing themselves to take committed action, to move forward and grow. I enjoy exploring your life story and how past experiences are showing up and shaping your current narrative.  I like to incorporate creative interventions - such as using image cards, symbols and simple drawings because this can be a really powerful way to unlock messages from the subconscious.

I am a member of the BACP and have trained in the following modalities: Person centred counselling, CBT, Transactional Analysis, ACT and creative counselling.

I'm a committed, engaged therapist who wants to witness your growth, and I want to see shifts in how you feel. I understand the pain of not being where you want to be or who you want to be and would like to explore the landscape of where you are now and to explore paths forward.

Counselling isn't always straightforward and at times the process might be quite messy. I don't work to a pre-arranged formula as though I’m going to try and make you fit to a framework that might not be right for you. I approach the therapeutic process with a sense of curious exploration and experimentation.

Choosing a counsellor is a little bit like trying to find the perfect house on Rightmove…that might sound like a weird analogy but you don’t know what the house is like until you go in person. Even when you know specifically what you want, for example a therapist trained in a specific modality, there’s no exact science to finding the right counsellor for you.  So, to be honest maybe the quickest way to find out if you want to work with me could be to send me an e-mail and arrange a call just to see if it feels as though we might be on the same wavelength, that you can imagine working with me.  â€‹
