Self-esteem
Self-esteem is about how you perceived yourself. You might experience low self-esteem and equate it to a lack of confidence or belief in your abilities but it is quite a complex concept to unpick. Low self-esteem impacts your life on a daily basis, whether it be in your self talk or limiting beliefs effective what action you take.

The sense of self that you have encompasses concepts such as self-worth, self-compassion and shame which is a universal emotion – a reaction to feeling disconnected from others. Where our levels of self-esteem and beliefs we have about ourselves come from could be impacted by your family of origin, school, or in your current relationships.

In the therapy room I use creative interventions and parts work to explore how past experiences are impacting you in the here and now. Looking at life patterns and stories you have been maintaining allows you to question whether some of these old rules apply today and what you can loosen your grip of to begin the gradual process of letting outdated thoughts and beliefs go.
